Entry Regulation

  • Every year, the Seoul International Drama Awards prizes to outstanding dramas from all over the world.
    We look forward to discovering high-quality drama productions across borders,
    and seeing the experts of the industry in Seoul.

Eligibility
  • A. Entries must have been broadcast or transmitted to the general public by television channels, cable networks, satellites, the Internet or other digital delivery media. Dramatized commercials or promotional materials or theatrical films are not acceptable.

  • B. Entries have initially been broadcast or released in any country between July 1, 2024 and June 30, 2025
  • C. Only the corporation holding the copyright or a person authorized by the copyright holder(s) may submit an entry. If not, the entrant must obtain consent from the rights holders prior to submission.
  • D. Entries that are likely to cause conflicts between countries, races, and ethnic groups could be excluded from the judging and voting.
  • E. Eligibility will be considered on a case-by-case basis by Seoul Drama Awards Organizing Committee(SDAOC), hereinafter referred to as SDAOC.
    Notices regarding copyrights during submission
    In the case of a joint production, the entrant must inform the production partner companies in advance
    If a program is submitted by multiple entrants, the copyright holders must determine which submission is valid and notify SDAOC.
    The entrant shall bear full responsibility for any copyright-related issues.

International Competition
  • 구분, 부문, 정의로 구성된 출품부문 안내 테이블
    Category Definition
    Program TV Movie A production from one (1) to three (3) episodes.
    Miniseries A production between four (4) and twenty four (24) episodes in which theme, storyline, and main characters are presented under the same title.
    Series A production with twenty-five (25) or more episodes in which theme, storyline, and main characters are presented under the same title.
    Individual Director All crew and cast who are written on the entry forms by entrants are automatically competing in the individual category.

  • ※ There is no limit to the number of submissions according to each category: TV Movie, Miniseries, Series
  • ※ In the case of Omnibus/Anthology Series with different stories, themes, and characters, each episode will be approved as separate submissions.
  • ※ If each season from a program satisfies the qualification of the first airdate between July 1, 2024 and June 30, 2025, each season must be classified and submitted as an individual program.
  • ※ The Program Category is only based on the total numbers of episodes in a single entry regardless of genres, the number of seasons, platforms, etc.
K-Drama Competition
  • 구분, 부문, 정의로 구성된 출품부문 안내 테이블
    Category Definition
    Program Korean dramas produced by a drama production/broadcasting/OTT companies from South Korea (including overseas co-production) regardless of platforms and the number of episodes, which is released within the qualified period.
    Individual Outstanding Korean Actor The actors and actresses who are written on the entry forms by entrants are automatically competing.
    Outstanding Korean Actress
    Outstanding Korean Drama O.S.T One of Korean OSTs will be selected through the global fan voting run by SDAOC.
  • ※ In the case of a duplicate entry to 'International Competition' and 'K-Drama Competition' categories, it needs to abide preferentially by the regulations for ‘International Competition’.

② Freely select and submit any episodes which are necessary or important to understand the overall flow.

※ For English-speaking dramas, english subtitles can be omitted. However, when foreign languages other than English are expressed in major lines or images, English subtitles are required in the moment.


2) Video Formats
① File name: Title_Country_Episode (eg. SDA_South Korea_1)
② Video codec : H.264
③ Audio codec : AAC
④ File formats : MP4, MOV, AVI, WMV (Any format is acceptable as long as the provided codecs/formats are readable on default and 3rd-party video players.)
⑤ Resolution : 1280 X 720 HD (16:9)


3) Video Submission (You can choose ①/②/③)
① Upload the videos in your Google Drive and share them with the official account of SDA (seouldramaawards@gmail.com)
② Share download link : WeTransfer, Vimeo, Aspera, etc.
- You should set the download period after June 13, 2025 (KST)
- Please send your videos to SDA programmer's e-mail. The submission is completed only when the programmer in charge responds ‘Confirmation’ by e-mail
③ Save the video files on a USB flash drive and ship it to SDAOC by post.
- Only materials that arrive at SDAOC before the entry deadline will be judged.

Entry Deadline
May 28, 2025 (KST)
SDAOC reserves the right to accept or reject any request for an extension of the submission period. If accepted, SDAOC will set a new deadline and notify the entrants.
Notification
  • A. No entrance fee is required for all categories.
  • B. There is no limit to the number of submissions according to each category.
  • C. SDAOC is not obliged to return any submitted materials. The materials may be used for promotional purpose related to the awards ceremony.
  • D. SDAOC has the rights to request additional materials, in case of insufficient information or technical errors.
  • E. The entrant is expected to fully cooperate to ensure that winners can attend the awards ceremony.
Announcement
  • A. Nominees The Organizing Committee will announce the nominees on the website and notify the entrants individually after preliminary selection.
  • B. Winners The winners will be announced at the live-telecast Awards Ceremony in October 2025 in Seoul.
